possibility for every congregation in America to move into a

new level of prayer for their church family, for their community,

and for the world.

What is a local church prayer room? It begins when a church

of any denomination decides to designate a physical room in

their church facility exclusively to prayer. They furnish it and

decorate it comfortably and tastefully. They install at least one

telephone line, although some have two or three. They install a

fax machine and a computer with modems for email and

Internet. They put an individual with gifts for prayer and

intercession, combined with some organizational skills, in

charge. This prayer room leader recruits a volunteer staff which

will occupy the prayer room up to 24 hours per day, 7 days a

week.

Naturally, most of the prayer requests will come from their

own congregation, their own community, and even from other

churches in the community. But they will also be linked, through

the World Prayer Center, with thousands of other local church

prayer rooms in all states and with the National Prayer Networks

around the world.
